14 Blogs for Nurses to Follow in 2020

All I can say is I wish that I would have known about these awesome nurse bloggers whenever I was in nursing school or when I was struggling to stay afloat as a new nurse!

I have recently come across some awesome nurse bloggers that I have to ensure everyone knows about.

Here is a list, that is by no means comprehensive and in no particular order, of nurse bloggers that you should be sure to check out.

I have also included some YouTube channels and websites that may not necessarily define themselves as a “blog”. Nonetheless, they are all worth looking into.

If you want to check out any of these sites, simply click on their name and you will be taken to the homepage of their website.

Mother Nurse Love

Sarah, the creator of Mother Nurse Love, is a mother of 2 beautiful children who started her nursing blog as an exhausted nurse and new mother. Since starting her blog she has created a community of support for working moms who struggle to take time to care for themselves.

She has great posts that focus on the career of nursing as well as tips for motherhood.

Even if you are not a mother, you will still find plenty of useful information on her blog!

Plus, she’s a yogi, so extra points to her!

FreshRN

Kati has created a great space for new nurses to find a plethora of content to help them be successful as a newbie nurse. She has courses that are specifically designed for new nurses.

She has written several books that can be purchased, a podcast to listen to, and I even peeped her starting to make some YouTube videos!

I think Kati’s site is perfect for new nurses who want to gain a little extra confidence.

Planner nurse

Over at The Planner Nurse you will find Regina writing about nursing lifestyle.

She already has a good chunk of nursing content uploaded and appears to be diving into the beauty and wellness part of nursing lifestyle soon enough!

Currently you can grab some FREE organizational tools like report sheets and planners over on her site, so head on over and take a look if you want some extra organization inspo. Be sure to continue to check back to her site to see what awesome new content she uploads.

The Nerdy Nurse

Brittney, the creator of The Nerdy Nurse, has been at the blogging business for 10 years (and even wrote a book about how to blog as a nurse!)

She has created a ton of content in her time that is worth peeking at. Also, can we just take a time to appreciate how cute the name of her site and her logo is? Perfection!

Nurse Abnormalities

Danielle is a CVICU Nurse Practitioner (NP) and the creator of Nurse Abnormalities. She writes about some thought-provoking ideas that really make you think as a nurse.

She also has some posts about her journey to become an NP and her experiences as an NP which are perfect for individuals wanting to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner.

Nurse Buff

Nurse Buff is a “nursing humor and lifestyle blog” but the information on this website seriously runs the gamut!

They have a plethora of awesome information available on their website.

They have a career guide for different nursing specialties, nursing hacks, education for nursing students, and so much more.

You would be remiss to not check out this nursing blog.

Perfect for nursing students:

Straight A Nursing

Nurse Mo has a lot of useful information for nursing students and nurses who love to continue learning. She has an awesome podcast series where she covers different topics that all nurses should be aware of.

If you are a nursing student, then you may also want to check out the study guides she has available for download as well as her student nurse planner.

Sisters In Scrubs

As the name suggests, this blog is run by three sisters who are all registered nurses. Ashley, Whitney, and Emily have varying backgrounds but are all committed to providing advice for nurses and nursing students.

They are consistently adding new content, so be sure to keep an eye out on their site as they continue to add to their database of content!

Nursing SOS

Christina, the creator of Nursing School of Success (SOS), truly exudes the energy of someone who was destined to be a nurse. She has such a passion for nursing as well as nursing education. If you are in nursing school, you may find her membership program is appropriate for your needs.

If you don’t have the extra cash for her membership, don’t sweat it. She has a bunch of educational content over on her YouTube channel; she also has nursing hack videos that cover a variety of topics.

Registered Nurse RN

If you have searched popular nursing topics over on YouTube, then there is a good chance you have run across Nurse Sarah. Nurse Sarah has posted a ton of helpful information for nursing students to help them study for their exams as well as prepare for the NCLEX.

Although she may not necessarily consider her website a “blog”, it is still a website that nursing students should check out!

The best part about all her content is that it is FREE! Nurse Sarah’s channel and website are true #goals. Plus, her accent is super cute. 😊

Perfect for YouTube fanatics:

Nurse Liz

Nurse Liz has a growing YouTube channel as well as a website. She posts vlogs, “day in the life” videos, and educational tips and tricks for nursing students and nurses.

She even filmed videos whenever she was in the process of becoming a nurse practitioner! Which could be invaluable to a nurse considering becoming a nurse practitioner.

Her content also resonates with moms who struggle to find a balance between being a mom and a working nurse, so check her out if that sounds like you.

Nurse Nook

Alexis has been posting videos for a couple years now and began by documenting her journey through nursing school. She has since graduated from nursing school and is now a pediatric ER nurse who posts videos about nurse lifestyle.

Her videos are great for nurses or nursing students who want a more laid-back vibe but still want to learn helpful information pertaining to nursing school or life as a nurse.

Nurse Blake

Nurse Blake is the comic relief we need in nursing! All his videos are humorous and in good nature.

If you want a good laugh about the craziness of nursing school or nursing as a profession, definitely go give him a sub over on YouTube.

Perfect for night shift nurses:

The Other Shift

This is not technically just a nurse blog, but I had to include if for those of you nurses who work the night shift.

This site focuses on tips and tricks for managing your life if you work night shift or shift work. They have a lot of useful information on staying healthy, which is a huge concern for people who work night shift.

Emma, one of the creators of the website, has been working as a nurse for the past 10 years and states she has plenty of experience working odd hours.

They have a 7-day e-course on how to work night shift and stay healthy you can grab for FREE. If I was still consistently working night shifts that would definitely be something I wouldn’t be able to pass up.

I hope that you take the time to check out the blogs listed above! You can also check out the blog content here on The Nursiversity if you feel so inclined, as I would love to have you as a part of this community.

Happy Nursing!
